The short version
- We collect what Pimori needs to work: your account, your conversations with your pet, the memories you choose to keep, and the friend features you use.
- Your messages are sent to AI models to write your pet's replies. Replies are generated by AI and can be wrong.
- You can see, edit and delete what your pet remembers, clear your conversation, and delete your account in the app.
- We don't sell your data, and there are no ads in Pimori.
- Pimori is for adults 18 and over.
Who we are
This policy explains how Pimori ("Pimori", "we", "us") handles information when you use the Pimori app for iOS and Android and the website at meetpimori.com. If you have a question about it, email hey@meetpimori.com.
What we collect
Your account
- Guest accounts. You can start as a guest. We create a random account ID; no email or name is needed.
- Signing in. If you sign in with an email code, we store your email address. Sign-in codes are stored only in hashed form and expire after five minutes. If you use Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google, we receive the name and email address the provider shares with us (with Apple, this can be a private relay address).
- Sessions and abuse prevention. When you sign in, we store a session record that includes your IP address and your device's user agent, and short-lived rate-limit counters to stop automated abuse.
Your conversations
- Messages and replies. The messages you send your pet and its replies are stored on our servers with your account, so your conversation is there when you come back. This includes messages your pet starts on its own, such as a greeting when you open the app or a check-in notification.
- Derived data. To help your pet stay consistent, we keep a short running summary of older conversation, a search index of your messages so your pet can recall things you said before, and temporary drafts of suggestions, plans and memory proposals.
- Memories. Your pet may propose things to remember (for example a preference, a person or an upcoming event). We store the ones it proposes and the ones you keep, edit or dismiss.
- Your pet's profile. Your pet's name, temperament and look, so messages it sends you later sound like your pet.
- Voice. If you talk by voice, your recording is sent to our server to be turned into text, and your pet's reply text is sent to be turned into speech. We don't store the recordings or the generated audio.
Context you choose to share with your pet
Depending on your settings, a message can include extra context so your pet can help. You control these in the app's Privacy settings and in your phone's settings:
- Your local time and time zone.
- Notes you saved in the app, and your plans and their steps.
- Game facts about your pet, like its mood, growth and finds.
- Calendar. Only if you allow calendar access: the titles and times of your events for today and tomorrow. These are read on your phone and sent along with your message so your pet can use them in its reply. If you tap "add to calendar", the reminder is added to your calendar on your phone.
- Visits and games with a friend's pet, only if you switch this on for that friend.
When your pet looks something up on the web for you, the search words are sent to a web search provider. Your account details are not sent with the search.
Friends
If you use friend features, we store the friendships you accept (your pet's name and look, and your friend's), invite codes (stored in hashed form), and the gifts, snacks, waves, short messages and sleepovers you send and receive. We also store the blocks you make and the reports you file, including the reason you chose.
Notifications
If you turn on notifications, we store your device's push token, your time zone, your quiet hours and your notification choices, plus a log of the check-ins we send, so we never send more than one a day.
Usage analytics
To learn what's working, the app sends simple usage events, such as an app open, a hatch, a game played or a card shared. Each event carries a random install ID, the event name, at most one fixed label (for example whether the app was opened from a notification), the time, and your account ID if you're signed in. Events never include your messages, notes, names or anything you type. You can turn this off at any time in Privacy settings ("Help improve Pimori").
Other
- We count how many messages and voice requests you make each day to apply daily limits.
- We use the country your connection comes from to show crisis support resources for your region. We don't store it.
- If you email us, we keep the conversation so we can help you.
We don't collect your contacts, your precise location or advertising identifiers.
What stays on your device
Your pet and its world, your game progress, notes, preferences, a copy of your recent chat and any unsent drafts are kept in the app's storage on your phone. If you have a signed-in account, a copy of your pet and game progress is also saved to our servers so it can be restored and used with friend features. Deleting the app removes what's stored on your phone.
How we use it
- To run Pimori: your pet, your conversations, memories, reminders, notifications and friend features.
- To write your pet's replies with AI models (see below).
- To keep people safe: detecting crisis messages, checking friend messages before they're delivered, and handling reports and blocks.
- To protect the service: sign-in, rate limits and preventing abuse.
- To fix problems and improve the app, using the usage analytics described above.
- To answer you when you contact us, and to send sign-in codes. We don't send marketing email from the app.
We don't sell your personal information, we don't share it for advertising, and there are no ads in Pimori.
AI and safety
Your pet is an AI. When you send a message, your message, recent conversation, the running summary, your kept memories and the context you chose to share are sent to an AI model to write the reply.
- Most replies are written by models we reach through OpenRouter, which routes each request to an underlying model provider (for example Google).
- Some features run on Cloudflare Workers AI: safety checks, voice transcription and speech, the search index for recall, suggestions and plan drafts, and a backup model if the main one is unavailable.
We don't train AI models of our own on your conversations. The providers we use process your data to return a result to us, under their own terms and privacy policies.
AI replies can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Your pet is not a doctor, lawyer, therapist or financial adviser, and nothing it says is professional advice.
Messages are checked by an automated safety classifier. If a message looks like it may signal a crisis, the app shows crisis support resources. Pimori is not an emergency service: if you are in danger, call your local emergency number. Friend messages are checked before delivery and are not delivered if they're flagged.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that help us run Pimori, and only what they need:
- Cloudflare: hosting, our database, Workers AI models, and delivery of sign-in code emails.
- OpenRouter and the AI model providers it routes to: writing your pet's replies and summaries.
- Expo: delivering push notifications to your device, together with Apple's and Google's notification services.
- Apple and Google: if you choose to sign in with them, and for app distribution and in-app purchases through their stores.
- Brave Search: web searches your pet makes for you, as described above.
Your friends see what you choose to share with them: your pet's name and look, and the gifts, messages and visits you send. Your chats and notes are never passed to a friend or a friend's pet.
We may also disclose information if we believe the law requires it, to protect the safety of anyone, or to investigate abuse of Pimori. If Pimori is ever transferred to a new owner, your information would move with it under this policy, and we'd let you know.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists, until you delete it:
- Memories can be edited or forgotten one by one in your pet's notebook.
- Clearing your conversation deletes your messages, the running summary and the search index built from them. Memories you kept stay until you forget them.
- Deleting your account (in the app's account settings) permanently deletes your account and the data linked to it on our servers: sessions, conversation, memories, your saved pet and game progress, notification settings, friendships, gifts and messages, and the blocks and reports linked to your account.
- Guest accounts. If you sign in after chatting as a guest, your guest conversation and memories move to your account and are removed from the guest account.
Deleting your account also deletes the usage analytics events recorded while you were signed in and your daily usage counters. Usage events recorded only with the random install ID (for example, before you signed in) aren't linked to your account and may be kept; they never contain your messages or anything you type. Deleted data can remain in our database's backups for a limited time before it's overwritten. Service providers keep data according to their own policies.
Your choices and rights
- See, correct and delete what your pet remembers, in its notebook.
- Clear your conversation at any time.
- Choose what your pet can bring into chats (notes, plans, game facts, each friend) in Privacy settings.
- Turn calendar access and notifications on or off in the app or your phone's settings.
- Turn off usage analytics in Privacy settings.
- Leave, block or report a friend in the friend garden.
- Delete your account in the app.
You can also email hey@meetpimori.com to ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it. We may need to confirm the request comes from you, and we aim to reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights under local law, including the right to complain to your data protection authority.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit between the app and our servers. Sign-in codes and invite codes are stored hashed, and access to our systems is limited. No service can promise perfect security, so please tell us at hey@meetpimori.com if you notice a problem.
Where data is processed
Our providers run infrastructure in many countries, including the United States. Your information may be processed outside the country where you live.
Age requirement
Pimori is only for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 is using Pimori, email us and we'll delete their account.
This website and the waitlist
This website doesn't use cookies or third-party analytics. It keeps your preview pet and your referral code in your browser's local storage. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads.
If you join the waitlist, we store your email address, signup date, your consent to launch and early-access emails, the pet name you reserve (optional), your referral code and who referred you. We also keep a short-lived, hashed network identifier to limit automated signups. Waitlist records are never listed publicly or sold. You can leave at any time with the private removal link shown when you join, or by emailing us.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
